This is the island-and-mainland pairing done at the top of the range, and done in the right order. You leave the coast rested, arrive on the Serengeti with energy to spend, and finish on the crater floor rather than in a departure lounge.
Nothing in the middle is fixed to the hour. Your guide reads wildlife activity each morning and builds the day around it, which is the real luxury on a safari of this length. A full day in the Serengeti belongs entirely to whatever is happening on the plains.
Accommodation is chosen for position as much as polish: a luxury camp within the park so game drives start at the tent flap, and a rim property above Ngorongoro so the final descent happens ahead of the crowd.

Fly from Zanzibar into the Serengeti and begin with an afternoon game drive before settling into your luxury camp for sundowners on the plains.

A full day on the plains
A flexible day of Serengeti game drives shaped around wildlife activity and your own interests, with long sittings where the action is and camp time when the heat peaks.
- 03
Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Highlands
A final morning safari, then travel east toward the Ngorongoro Highlands with game viewing en route, overnighting at a lodge near the crater rim.
- 04
Ngorongoro Crater and onward
Descend into the crater for a last Big Five game drive on the caldera floor, then continue to Arusha for your onward flight connection.
