Serengeti Direct Fly-In Safari safari route in Tanzania

3 Days / 2 Nights

Serengeti Direct Fly-In Safari

All Serengeti, no compromise.

Overview

Skip the long road west and spend every hour of three days on the plains.

The drive from Arusha to the Serengeti is a beautiful thing, and it eats the better part of a day in each direction. On a short trip that is a third of your safari spent watching the road. Flying in erases the problem entirely.

You land on a bush airstrip with the plains already around you, and your guide is waiting beside the vehicle. From that first afternoon until the last sunrise drive, everything happens inside the park. No gate queues, no highway, no repacking.

Three days in one ecosystem also lets your guide work properly. Cats seen at dusk can be found again at dawn; a build-up over a kill is worth returning to. It is a small itinerary that behaves like a much longer one.

HOW THE JOURNEY UNFOLDS

  1. 01

    Fly in and afternoon plains

Fly directly into the Serengeti, meet your guide at the airstrip and settle into camp. The afternoon opens with a game drive across the open plains, easing into the rhythm of the ecosystem as the light softens.

  2. 02

    A full Serengeti day

Morning and afternoon game drives through the most productive corners of the park, tracking big cats, following plains game and working the kopjes and river lines, with a long break in camp through the heat.

  3. 03

    Sunrise drive and departure

A final game drive at first light, when the plains are at their most active, then breakfast before transferring to the airstrip for your return flight.
